Mark out 15cm intervals on a sheet of newsprint or sheets of old newspaper taped together. Fold the paper into a concertina using these marks as a guide, to create a grid of 15cm squares.
Copy the pattern onto the grid and cut out with scissors.
Fold your curtain material in half lengthways and pin your pattern onto the fabric with the straight edge along the fold of the fabric.
Cut out using a sharp pair of scissors.
Starting at (a) pin the bias binding around the edge of your material and using back stitch, stitch it all the way around to the opposite side.
Leaving about 80cm of bias binding hanging, stitch in the same way around the top half of the apron, again leaving 80cm hanging at the other end to make the ties. To make the ties, stitch the hanging bias binding to itself, folding the loose ends in.
Stitch bias binding around the top and the bottom of the neck strap.
Pin the neck strap to the apron to make sure it is comfortable for you and then attach to the apron with back stitch.##
